The egg is first important foods in Chinese people living in 1960s~1980s.especially in my hometown.If one mother birth kid,when baby has one month,the mother must cook many boiled eggs,at same time the eggs are staining with red color .(Red color is a luck color in our hometown.)then sent out to neighbour:every family will get two eggs in hand.and they will say many benedictory words to the baby.baby's grandmother must buy many baby's clothes and hens to baby's mother.I was so happy to wait the thing coming in my childhood,in that time ,no any snack in family except rice,pickle .First time saw and ate apple in my 11ages.every school beginning of term after summer / winter vacation ,Children must come back school to study,children will get many eggs for par tens cook .children will tell par tens that they like which type eggs: boiled eggs or poached eggs (fried egg ).Eggs were expensive and lack in 1970s~1980s.but no mind,because childhood started new term so every par tens would fulfil wish of kids-----so loud to tell them,I want to eat how many eggs,so every time,My mother listened it and replay"really,eight eggs?"mum said again,"yes,mum,and I want eight eggs are fried and must fried to golden yellow ",I answered ,my tone was perky.because I knew it was a nice chance to eat eggs,and clearly knew next time to meet eggs it is a long time waiting for me and sister.so can't miss this nice chance."yes.mum eight eggs,I promise I will eat it up. " Do you know eat eggs number must be even number for it will be luckily number in China.and hate number"four,seven" ,four means "died",seven means "go away".so I thought two eggs too few ,four can't be,six are just right,but if eight eggs best choose for me in my innocent kid minds.mum cooked it and put on table ,she always said benedictory words the other picking up it with chopsticks to my bowl--two eggs means my examination results would get "100"in the future,so if I ate eight eggs,it will get "100000000",oh,mum,thanks!Today,I never went to which one university or doing one nice successful career women .I hope you forgive me and eggs ? last year,I come back hometown to see you when I went back to Shenzhen for working,you got up early in the morning to cook boiled eggs (for high blood pressure your left hand don't move freely,so didn't cook fried egg).The bus was crossing many mountain while my tears running down my face on the way........mum . I love you!
